Everglades National Parks Main Entrance in Homestead is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Visitors will NOT get locked in the park overnight. The gate at the Shark Valley entrance on U.S.41/Tamiami Trail is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
How long does it take to go through Everglades National Park?
It will take you two to three hours, and park staff recommends that you start early enough to return to the parking lot before it closes at 6 p.m. And, make sure you keep a healthy distance from any alligators you encounter. Wildlife does tend to congregate around the borrow pits near the loop road.
