Welcome Q-25 Racers & Event Promoters [#1]

Hello,

My name is Gene Hodges your new RCPRO Q-25 Committee Chairman. I am looking forward to working with all the other Q-25 Committee Members as well as other Q-25 racing groups around the country. Please use this Quickie 25 forum to post your Club/Organization information and comments. Lets help each other grow, improve, or get started racing Quickie 25 (Q-25) in the different areas around the country and abroad. Although our entry level racing group seems to be less organized than Club 40 and AMA 424 on the national level I hope we can all work together to make it stronger.

I think it's time to organize and work together to become a nationally recognized entry level pylon racing group where a club's sport pilots can have a class to pylon race on a local bases. With the new AMA set back rules more clubs are now able to hold pylon races on smaller flying sites that couldn't meet the set back requirements before. Hopefully we can establish a set of rules and procedures that would allow our pilots to go anywhere in the country and race like Club 40 has done. The other wonderful thing about this class is by making a few minor changes (engine size and battery location) you can use the same pylon racing plane to step up to the AMA 424 class as your racing skills improve. We have had pilots race Q-25 one weekend then race 424 the next. Please sound off and be counted, your post will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Gene Hodges
