Ultra Portable Pylon

Ultra Portable Pylon - Instructions

Building

Mark and all drill holes. Like most materials, PVC can grab a drill bit. Use extra caution when drilling the 0.50” holes. Use an AC powered drill or heavy duty cordless and allow the drill bit to do the work. Be especially careful when the hole is about to break through. Having an extra cordless drill with a 0.25” drill bit handy keeps drill bit changes and material handling to a minimum. If you make a significant mistake, rotate the material 45 degrees, mark and re-drill the holes.

Mask and paint any stripes as desired.

Install the hooks in the legs with the opening toward the top. Run a nut onto the hook and insert into hole. Do not over tighten the nut and distort the pipe. This will weaken the leg at a critical location.

Install the hooks in the base of the mast with the opening toward the top. Start with the hole that is deepest into the pipe. Run a nut onto the hook and insert into hole. Place a nut on the other side and hand tighten. Hold the hook and tighten the nut on the outside using a wrench. Repeat on remaining hook holes.
